I started fundraising 4 years ago with Make-A-Wish. I had no idea what I was doing, but Christy and I created the Dream Team, and our goal was to raise enough money for one wish. To date we have raised a total of $84,291. ALL THANKS TO YOU!
As we begin my fundraising efforts for the 2017-2018 season, I will be raising money and walking in March in honor of Joey. The dozens of wish kids I have had over the years all inspire me in different ways, but Joey gifted me with a different perspective. His personal motto was to “be positive” and was greatly inspired by Casey Neistat for his motto “do more”, as well as his humanitarian work worldwide. He aspired to be in the medical field, so he could encourage other kids with life threatening illnesses to be “be positive”. The 9 months that I knew Joey and his remarkable parents, he had a smile on his face, regardless of hospital visits and treatments. His strength was miraculous, his outlook on life was invigorating and his passion for wanting to make the world better has inspired me in more ways than he will ever know. I know in my heart he had so much purpose and would’ve left a beautiful footprint in the world. I will walk for him, and I hope that on March 10th, 2018, you walk with me and do the same. We walk so they can wish!
If October 1st taught us anything, it is that life is short, that we should strive to do more than just exist, to be better humans, and to come together as a community to help others. To DO MORE, BE POSITIVE, and honor the lives of those who are no longer with us.
Thank you in advance for your continued support as we strive to reach our $30,000 goal!
