“In the dictionary, under the word, “Golden Child” there is probably a picture of Grace. Between volunteering at the animal shelter and obsessively checking her (perfect) grades, Grace has it going on. She strikes a precise balance between girly and tomboy. She loves pink, sewing, and the show, The Bachelorette, but is also passionate about sports. She loves playing football, softball, and soccer.
Unfortunately, Grace’s active lifestyle was put on pause when she became hospitalized for 103-degree fever. Her bloodwork came back normal although her fever was consistent. A week later, Grace’s body was overtaken by large, excruciating red sores. She was eventually diagnosed with severe Crohn’s disease that affects her esophagus and entire digestive system. Her condition requires her to receive potent infusions every other month and she takes anti-nausea medication every morning so she doesn’t constantly feel like she has to throw up. Grace’s name is the perfect way to describe how she deals with her condition. Although her battle has been grueling, she has a radiant demeanor that can bring a smile to anyone who comes in contact with her.
It’s no secret that pre-teen girls often have celebrity crushes. In this case, Jordy Nelson of the Green Bay Packers caught twelve-year-old Grace’s eye in a major way. She told her wish granters that if she were to ever meet Jordy, she would “Probably pass out”. Naturally, Grace has wished to meet the Packers at a home game in Wisconsin.
