Three-year-old Addison, aka Addy, has Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, a rare condition that can affect many parts of the body. Despite her doctor’s hypothesis that she is legally blind, Addy is as alert and aware of her surroundings. She loves listening to nursery rhymes, playing with texturized toys and being exposed to bright colors. Even in the face of challenges from multiple medical conditions, Addy maintains a happy demeanor and special bond with her family.
Once Addy’s family heard she would be granted an opportunity to receive a wish, they knew a service dog would be the best gift for their precious little girl. A dog would not only serve as an amazing companion and sense of comfort for Addy, but as another set of eyes for her parents. They would also like Addy’s dog to have the ability to detect impending seizures to ensure quick action and avoid negative side effects.
Growing up with a service dog will encourage Addy to crawl, eventually walk, and have a best friend for life.
By donating to Make-A-Wish you are giving Addy* and other Wish Kids like her, a new sense of hope. Please help us grant Addy’s wish by making a contribution today!
