Dear Friends and Family,
Welcome to our team fundraising page! We started this page to help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and are asking for your support.
For the last three years, the girls here at Chi Omega have spent a week donating our time and money to a series of several different fundraising events, known as Wish Week. Every event that occurs during the week is to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
If you are not familiar with The Make-A-Wish Foundation, it is an organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions who are between the ages of 2 ½ and 18. The mission of the foundation is to provide these children with joy, hope and renewed strength to help them fight complications that most do not quite understand. Although the Make-A-Wish Foundation is a national philanthropy, Chi Omega at the University of Oklahoma donates solely to children that live throughout the Oklahoma area.
Chi Omega, at OU, has made it a point to prove that our college career is not just about a student’s individual education or the fun to be had. Through our annual fundraiser, Chi Omega has demonstrated that generosity and community involvement have been, and will continue to be, instrumental in developing our lasting legacy. Each year, the girls at Chi Omega attempt to unite the entire community at the University of Oklahoma—as well as the community of city of Norman and Oklahoma as a whole in our endeavors. Through the previous help of our families and friends, a tremendous effort has been made in the past, involving a variety of activities to raise money for such an outstanding charity. Wish Week is just another way that we, at Chi Omega, show our love and appreciation to our great state and the children that grow up in it.
Currently, the average cost of a wish in Oklahoma is $7,000. This covers a variety of wishes, from trips to Disney World, to meeting a favorite celebrity or athlete. Currently, there are more than 200 children in Oklahoma waiting to have their wish granted. Therefore, this year we are striving to grant as many wishes as we can with a goal of $50,000. To reach this goal, we have organized a variety of events to raise funds to grant these wishes.
However, we will not be able to reach our goal by simply holding these events. The ladies of Chi Omega need your help! We are asking you to be a part of this cause and to help us reach our goal by simply making a tax-deductible contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Oklahoma. Any amount is greatly appreciated. All of us here at Chi Omega, along with children from all across the state, would like to thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration to help us grant the wishes of Oklahoma children.
Thank you for your support!
