Dear Friends and Family,
An x-ray on January 28, 2012 revealed a softball sized tumor in my chest, and so began the fight for my life.
From that day on, my days consisted of scans, blood draws, chemo infusions, shots and doctors appointments. But the day of my wish was different. I wished to be the coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder and my wish came true!
Make-A-Wish put my family in a hotel in downtown OKC, and I got to ride to the Oklahoma City Thunder practice facility in a limo. I got to be a part of the coaches' meeting where we watched film and came up with a game plan for the match against the Kings that evening. We left the coaches' meeting and coach Scott Brooks gave me full reign over the shootaround. I was running drills and blowing whistles. That day I wasn't a cancer patient. I was a coach.
Everytime I watched a Thunder game, there was a smile on my face. My wish gave me hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish has the mission to bring that same hope, strength and joy to every child fighting a life-threatening illness like I was.
So I'm asking you to help me by donating $35, $350 or $3,500. Your donation will help wishes come true to encourage other children like me.
Thank you for your support!
