Friends and Family,
At the dawn of each New Year, many of us tell ourselves, “I am going to make a difference this year” and before we know it, 6 months have passed and we are still stuck in our everyday grind with nothing to show. Well this year, I have made the decision that 2017 is the year of PURPOSE. Everything I do is going to be attached with a purpose.
This idea came to me after I made a physical goal this year of committing to do 50 push-ups every single day in 2017. After setting that goal, I asked myself, “What have I done on purpose every single day for 365 days?” The answer is nothing. Somewhere along the way, I let an excuse take over. I'm too tired, I'm too sick, I'm too busy, I had too much fun last night, time got away from me today... and on and on and on. So I knew in order to keep my motivation and energy, I needed a cause to contribute to that is bigger than myself.
This got me thinking, “Who in this world would I do anything for, no matter what?”The answer was easy: my two children. I'm sure in some way, shape, or form, you can relate. If any child is suffering, you would do anything to trade placeswith them and take their suffering away. Personally, I am beyond blessed that my family has not experienced anything too major in that regard. Unfortunately, I know this isn't the case for many other families out there.
Over the past few years, I have been a huge fan of the Make-A-Wish® foundation because of their work with children and their families. Taking a child’s mind off their current condition, even for a moment, is a dream come true for the parents and children alike. Make-A-Wish® foundation puts a smile on these kids’ faces, and it is absolutely priceless.
Creating those smiles is the main reason I established a Make-A-Wish® fundraising page. I believe that a Make-A-Wish® experience can change everything for a child with a life-threatening medical condition.
I have decided to step up my push-up challenge from 50 a day to at least 137 push-ups every single day, totaling 50,000 push-ups for 2017. If, for some reason, I fail JUST ONE DAY, I personally will contribute the remaining amount to Grant a Wish (1 wish = $10,000). If at any point I fail, I personally will contribute the difference so the wish will be granted. In addition, if the first goal of $10,000 is reached before the end of the year, it will reset and another goal of $10,000 will be started.
This is the Impact you make with your contribution: http://mn.wish.org/wishes/wish-impact-and-facts
Please help by contributing any amount you can - $50, $75, $100 or even more. Every dollar you donate can help the Make-A-Wish kids renew their courage and find a turning point in their lives.
Thank you for your support – let’s create smiles together!
