Dear Friends and Family,
With your help, we can make "Blue Wishes Come True." Over the past 31 years, the Make-A-Wish® Michigan has been a strong supporter of children at Mott Children's Hospital, with over 100 wishes granted each year to children at Mott. This year we are sponsoring the 4th annual Make-A-Wish® collegiate challenge between students at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. All funds raised on the University of Michigan campus will be used to grant wishes for children at Mott Children's Hospital, thus "Making Blue Wishes Come True." All funds raised on the Michigan State campus will be used to grant wishes for children at Lansing Sparrow Hospital, thereby "Making Green Wishes Come True."
At the University of Michigan, Alpha Phi Omega, a national volunteer service fraternity, is proud to be leading the efforts on our campus. With over 400 members, our fraternity completed over 12,000 hours of service during the Fall 2015 semester. We are honored to be dedicating this year's collegiate challenge to a young lady named Maddie. Maddie was a 7th grade honors student, playing soccer and loving life, when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She fought a courageous battle, through chemotherapy and radiation. Through it all, Maddie's love for the University of Michigan and Make-A-Wish Michigan® always stood tall. This year's event comes from Maddie's heart to all Wolverine fans everywhere. From Maddie and from Alpha Phi Omega, let's help make Blue Wishes Come True. Go Maddie, and Go Blue!
Students at the University of Michigan and Michigan State University have organized the fourth annual Make-A-Wish® Michigan collegiate challenge, competing to raise funds to support wishes for local area children. Funds raised from Wolverine fans will help grant wishes to children at Mott Hospital and the Ann Arbor area, making “Blue” wishes come true. Funds raised from Spartan fans will help grant wishes to children in the Lansing community, making “Green” wishes come true. Please help us bring joy to these children’s lives. Together, we can help "Make Blue & Green Wishes Come True.” Last year, MSU won the event, raising more funds for Make-A-Wish Michigan than UM, we can’t let this happen again.
This year, Alpha Phi Omega is sponsoring a co-ed 3 on 3 basketball tournament, with all registration fees going to “Make Blue Wishes Come True”. The tournament will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, February 18th at the University of Michigan IM building. Register your team on this website, by donating today. The minimum donation (entry fee) is $40 per team be sure to include your team name/names of players and contact name information with your donation.
Together, we can change the lives of Wolverine and Spartan kids with serious medical illnesses.
Thank you for your support!
