  • On Thanksgiving, we give thanks.
  • On Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we shop.
  • On #GivingTuesday, we give back.

  • To celebrate #GivingTuesday this year, Make-A-Wish supporters are raising funds to help make wishes come true in communities across the state. Each of the 5 Illinois regions is working tirelessly to raise $10,000, with the goal of raising $50,000 statewide by midnight on November 29th, 2016.

  • Wishes don't come true because of one person. It takes every dollar, every person, every community to change the life of a sick child. Please join the HEROES in Region Three (Central Illinois/Peoria/Champaign/Bloomington) and help local children fighting tough battles experience the magic of a wish.

"As we enter the season of Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the hope that my Wish provided our family during my cancer journey. During treatment, nothing is for certain and you can’t plan on anything without the chance of being disappointed.  Thus, the anticipation in knowing that I could plan on going to Disney World and no matter what, the Make-A-Wish Foundation was going to make it happen, was one of the greatest gifts of all.  I am hopeful that in this season of giving, you will consider making a monetary contribution to the Make-A-Wish Foundation on or before #GivingTuesday.  Let us count our own blessings and give hope to those children that are in desperate need of some holiday cheer this year!"

- Sarah Johnson (Peoria)

"Fundraising is in my blood...When I heard about Make-A-Wish on a local radio station, I thought to myself, 'I would like to learn more about this Foundation.' I went to a kickoff party for a relay, saw pictures and videos of children with smiles as they found out their wish would come true...it made me feel so good. I was hooked. I am so excited to be a part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and look forward to sharing my new adventure with my family, friends and my community."

- Linda Knox (Champaign)

"My husband and I started the McLean Area Regional Council of Make-A-Wish over ten years ago. We wanted to do something that gave back to the community. We started the McLeans Area Regional Council and Sing For Wishes to help raise money for Make-A-Wish Illinois and to help spread community awareness."

- Trisha Tattini (Lexington)

"In 2009, my wife and I were honored to give the gift of hope when we hosted a fundraiser for our backyard neighbor, Cait, who suffered from brittle-bone disease, to get a $13,000 mobility dog (she named Keller)...and with the help of friends and family we raised $26,000 in 3 weeks, which was enough to get 2 dogs! It is because of Cait that I joined Make-A-Wish. I believe that a Make-A-Wish experience can change everything for a child with a life-threatening medical condition. Please help by contributing any amount you can - $30, $50, $100 or even more. Every dollar you donate can help Make-A-Wish kids renew their courage and find a turning point in their lives. In closing, I would like to share with you one of Cait's favorite quotes: 'Be the change you want to see in this world.'"

- Corey Schieler (Normal)

"Make-A-Wish truly impacts the lives of children and their families. The children serviced by this organization need the opportunity to smile, have fun and escape from their daily lives of dealing with serious medical conditions. The pure joy of having a wish fulfilled encourages children and their families to live in the moment. I am proud to play a small part in making that happen. Please join me in making a difference by supporting Make-A-Wish."

- Michelle Whited (Bloomington)

"I started volunteering for Make-A-Wish because it was important to be able to bring something positive into a family's life when they were focusing on so much chaos. I love being able to make a child's "dream come true" and see the excitement in their eyes when the wish is granted. Each family I meet holds a special place in my heart."

- Carrie Neff (Peoria)

"I believe in what goes around, comes around. Making a child happy can be the best medicine of all. Giving a child a wish also gives them hope to fight the disease they have."

- KC Lewis (Bloomington)
