Dear Friends and Family,
During his cancer treatment, Emilio would look out the window from his hospital bed at the harbor below and take in the activity of the boats coming and going. Both fascinated and excited by this, it wasn't a surprise that when it was time for his wish, Emilio wished to be the captain of his own ship and sail the wondrous ocean.
Emilio got exactly what he wished for—thanks to very generous volunteers and donors. On his big Wish day, he boarded a cabin cruiser in full captain attire as Emilio, El Capitán.
“I won the battle and nothing can stop me from doing what I want to do.” - Emilio
Emilio maneuvered his vessel throughout the harbor, tackling every wave, sounding his horn and sporting a smile as wide as the ocean.
"He enjoyed every part of his dream-come-true so much that I wish I could have stopped time so that he could stay as happy as he was on that day.” - Emilio's Mother
As we bring in the new year, I invite you to become part of the magic brought to Emilio and so many others. Make-A-Wish Greater Los Angeles makes over 350 wishes come true for children in our community every year—nearly one a day. Yet, twice as many new diagnoses occur annually. Powered by your support, we can strive to reach every eligible child.
Please consider a contribution of $30, $50 or $100. Every dollar you donate supports our mission of granting wishes of kids with life-threatening medical conditions and bringing hope, strength and keys ingredients of recovery to them.
Thank you for your generosity and support.
