For the past seven years we have organized the ‘Santa Stumble’ in an effort to support a local child facing a life-threatening medical condition. This year we are trying a new approach that we hope will engage families in a fun activity for all, while still offering a little extra holiday cheer for the adults as well.
On Saturday, December 17th we rented Field #2 at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, NC. We are planning an afternoon of activities in which kids (we are targeting ages 5-10) can come challenge ‘Santa’s Helpers’ in a variety of games and activities as Santa and his helpers attempt to get in shape for the big day. We plan to register kids at 1:00 and commence with a variety of fitness challenges and games from 1:30 to 2:30. Immediately following, we will provide ‘milk and cookies’ and offer pictures with any or all of the Santas. Following the event, we invite all Santas, volunteers, and contributors for a Santa holiday fest at Hickory Tavern.
There are many ways you can help join our cause:
- We need SANTA’s! Join us at Thomas Brooks in full Santa attire, ready to be challenged by the kids in a race, penalty kicks, obstacle course, fitness test, or other activity.
- We need Santa Suits: If you can’t participate as a Santa, but are willing to lend your Santa suit to another, please let us know.
- Kid Volunteers: We are looking for kids 13 and older to help engage the younger kids in activities on the field and assist them in challenging the Santas.
- Donate: We will ask families with participating children for a suggested donation of $25.
If you would like to volunteer at our event, please email email@example.com. If you are unable to participate but would like to make a contribution, you can do so via this site. 100% of proceeds from this event and our fund-raising efforts will go to Make-A-Wish of Eastern NC in support of the wish or wishes of local children facing life-threatening medical conditions.
We thank you for your support and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
