Please give what you can, when you can!!

Kids like Mahlia are the reason we established our Make-A-Wish® fundraising program. At Happy Living, we believe that a Make-A-Wish experience can change everything for a child with a life-threatening medical condition.

A wish come true empowers children to fight harder against their illnesses. When these kids are granted a wish, they get more than just a great experience for a day, two days or a week. A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, and more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illnesses.

Please help by contributing any amount you can - $50, $75, $100 or even more. Every dollar you donate can help Make-A-Wish kids renew their courage and find a turning point in their lives.

Thank you for your support!

A Granted Wish Helps Make-A-Wish Kids Fight Harder
In 2016, Make-A-Wish Central and Western North Carolina (N.C. Wish) will grant the wishes of more than 273 children. However, there are an additional 200+ children still waiting for their wishes to be granted. That's right, 200 kids just in Central and Western North Carolina alone. At an average cost of $6,000 per wish, we need your help to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. These children would love for you to make their wishes come true!
Our region's goal is to raise $256,000. My personal goal is to raise $28,300, and I need your help to achieve this.
What I'll be Doing
On September 24, I will hike 28.3 miles of the Foothills Trail along with many other volunteers. We've been steadily increasing the length of our training hikes in preparation for the big day; June 4, five miles... June 18, seven miles... July 2, nine miles, July 16, ten miles... July 30, fifteen miles... and this coming weekend we have an 18-mile hike planned at the beautiful Stone Mountain State Park.
Why It's So Important
A wish come true empowers children to fight harder against their illnesses[1]. When these kids are granted a wish, they get more than just a great experience for a day, two days or a week. A wish come true helps children feel stronger, more energetic, and more willing and able to battle their life-threatening medical conditions. For many of them, it marks a turning point in their fight against their illnesses.

Allow me to introduce a few of our local Wish Kids:
Trey, 13, has Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and says, "I wish to be a Carolina Panther football player for the day."
Troy, 3, has Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and he says, "I wish to go to Disney World."
Christopher, 16, suffers with Osteosarcoma. His wish is "to be an Army Soldier."
Audrey, 4, is afflicted with a Wilm's Tumor, and she says, "I wish to go to Hawaii!"
Henry is 5 and has cartilage hair hypoplasia. Henry's wish is "to be a NYC firefighter."
Hope, 12, has bone cancer, and wishes that she could "grant all the Make-A-Wish children's wishes." Wow, how sweet of her!!!
91 Days to Reach Our Goal
On the date of this post, we'll still have ninety-one days left to reach my goal of raising $28,300 for these amazing kids. I've still got a long way to go. I have raised a little less than10% of my goal and this means I need to raise $283 per day over the next ninety-one days. So you see, I really, really do need your help!
It's fast and easy to donate at my personal page; Fall 2016 Trailblaze Challenge. And it'll make you feel good, I promise. Every single donation, however small, will make a difference and help to grant a wish. So get your credit card out, click here, and help make some of the other 200+ kids' wishes, including Trey, Troy, Christopher, Audrey, Henry and Hope's, come true. Make-A-Wish and I will be truly grateful for every donation.
Thank You!
