New faces at Make-A-Wish® Oregon
We are excited to introduce two new members of the Make-A-Wish Oregon family. Parvaneh Givi joined our team last week as the Wish and Volunteer Services Director. Parvaneh recently moved back to Oregon with her husband. Darcie LaMotte-Waage also joined us last week as the Volunteer Manager. Some of you may know Darcie from her days as a volunteer wish granter for the chapter. Feel free to stop by the office to say hello.

Help wishes take flight
You hold the ticket to a child's wish. Give wishes wings during our frequent flier mileage drive by donating miles. Your unused airline miles can help bring smiles to children like Leena who’s battling cystic fibrosis. Read about Leena’s wish to go see the Lord of the Rings movie set, then tune in to KATU-TV tomorrow, August 13th, for the 7th annual Miles For Smiles Telethon and help wishes take flight.

A wish of a true champion
Make-A-Wish Oregon celebrated its 3,000th wish with 18-year-old Aaron of Happy Valley, who wished to meet his favorite Major League Baseball team in New York City. To mark the special occasion, Aaron’s family, friends, teammates and Make-A-Wish supporters gathered at a Hillsboro Hops baseball game where Aaron threw the first pitch. Read about Aaron’s battle with brain cancer and his hope for the future.
