Wish Family Gives Back to Community

“There was nothing on the schedule no doctor appointments, no hospital visits but to lie in the sun and go swimming… and enjoy each other’s company.” Quiet, quality family time is rare for the Snell Family, but they got to experience it while on 5-year-old Micah’s wish to go to Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. “It was amazing,” said Jeff, Micah’s dad. The family’s Make-A-Wish® experience inspired them to give back to the community in a unique way. Watch how Micah and his dad are helping other children, one marathon mile at a time.

  Summer Wishes

Summer 2015 Wrap UpThank you for making the start of the summer wish-granting season a big success. We kicked things off with the Summer Wishes Cocktail Party at MotoCorsa, which featured our first Widmer Beer Garden. More than 400 people enjoyed drinks, music, dancing and games, while raising $60,000 for Make-A-Wish® Oregon.

The annual Wish Upon a Car Raffle proved once again to be a popular way to support the chapter. Ramona of Salem was the lucky winner and drove home in a new Subaru Impreza from the Tonkin Family of Dealerships. Her name was drawn live at the annual radiothon hosted by K103 FM. The raffle and radiothon combined to raise more than $109,000 for local wishes.

  Celebrate a Gift

Legacy of WishesMake-A-Wish Oregon recently received a surprise bequest of more than $20,000 from the estate of a gracious and generous woman who believed in the impact of each wish that we grant. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to thank her and let her know how much her gift would mean because we didn’t know about her plans. Have you named Make-A-Wish Oregon in your estate plans? We would like to say thank you. Please let us know by contacting Crystal Logan at 503-802-7382 or crystal@orwish.org.
