Where are they now: How Hayley’s wish helped shape her future

A wish-come-true can be a life-changing moment. In 2007, Make-A-Wish® Oregon granted Hayley’s wish to interact with manatees, those giant sea cows that are only found on the southeast coast of the United States. “It was just absolutely wonderful that the only thing on my mind that week was whether the manatees were going to like me.” Today Hayley is 21 years old and studying marine biology at University of Oregon. Find out how her wish trip made a difference in her life and the promise she made to herself.

Walk For Wishes® is just one month away

Superhero CohenRegister today to help make wishes come true. On Saturday, May 9, hundreds will gather at Riverfront Park in Salem to celebrate our Wish Heroes - local wish kids battling life-threatening medical conditions. Dress up as your favorite hero to honor the courage of these kids. Whether you’re dressed as a superhero, a ballerina, a princess or an athlete, you will be walking among heroes! Thank you to our sponsors, including Pietro’s Pizza, who will be selling stars at all locations in support of Walk For Wishes starting May 9.

  World Wish Day® celebrations

Mark your calendars for World Wish Day on April 29. It paysWorld Wish Day tribute to seven-year-old Chris Greicius who received his wish to be a police officer 35 years ago. His wish inspired the creation of Make-A-Wish® and sparked a worldwide wish-granting movement. Make-A-Wish is now active in nearly 50 countries and has granted more than 334,000 wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Follow the hashtag #WorldWishDay all month to see this global celebration of wishes.
