An Evening to Remember
Thank you to everyone who attended or supported Wish Ball. More than 500 people joined us to show their support of local wish kids. Together, we raised more than $350,000 to make wishes come true in the coming year. Some of the photos from the evening are posted on Facebook, and don’t forget to check out #WishBallPDX on your Twitter and Instagram feed to see more night-of fun.
Season of Wishes®
This holiday season, you can bring joy to local children by participating in various Season of Wishes fundraisers. Visit oregon.wish.org for a full list of participating partners and contact Carynne Drake at carynne@orwish.org if you’d like to get your company involved.
Why a Wish?
A wish improves children’s state of mind, replacing fear with happiness and helping them to feel like normal kids again. In a recent wish impact study by the TCC Group, 91 percent of parents and 75 percent of health professionals observed that the wish experience decreased their children’s depression or sadness.
Celebrating Our Heroes
When we think of heroes, we often think about superheroes we've seen onscreen in action movies. At Make-A-Wish® Oregon, our heroes are the brave children who fight each and every day against the biggest villain of them all – a life-threatening medical condition. We recently witnessed four-year-old Soren transform into a hero through his wish to be in a monster movie. Take a moment to watch the impact his wish had on his family and why his parents called it the light at the end of the tunnel.

Deliver Wishes by Writing a Letter to Santa
Help deliver wishes to kids like 11-year-old Dixie from Oregon City, who’s battling a blood disorder. From now until Christmas Eve, Macy’s invites Believers of all ages to be part of the holiday magic. For every letter you write to Santa and drop off at your local Macy’s store, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1 million. You can also send your letter online. To learn more, visit macys.com/believe.

Spending with a Purpose
December 2nd is National #GivingTuesday, a unique effort to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. #GivingTuesday inspires people to take action to improve their local communities and to spend with a purpose. Stay tuned for ways you can help Make-A-Wish Oregon through #GivingTuesday.
