Shortly after Jackson was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2011, the Make-A-Wish Foundation contacted Jackson's family to ask if he had a wish they could fulfill. He was truly wise and selfless beyond his 10 years. He told them that he had everything he wanted in life. Instead, he wanted to help raise money to allow another child battling a serious illness to fulfill a wish. I believe that a Make-A-Wish experience can change everything for a child with a life-threatening medical condition.

Prior to 2017, Jackson inspired fundraising efforts that raised nearly $250,000 for childhood cancer research programs. This particular effort means so much because it directly benefits a charity that he personally supported, and also furthers the wish of a child from his local area.
