"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do." - Edward Everett Hale
Last year, my sweet friend Georgeen shared some exciting news: she had embarked on a journey known as the "Trailblaze Challenge" with her local Alabama Make-A-Wish chapter. While I was familiar with the admirable global efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, this challenge was new to me. Eager to learn more, I delved into her experience, observing her incredible dedication from afar as she trained and persevered in the months leading up to the Spring 2023 challenge. Her unwavering enthusiasm and profound love and generosity for this noble cause were truly inspiring, prompting both my daughter and me to take up the fall challenge in our home state of South Carolina. We are so thankful to have completed it on September 30, 2023.
The instant allure of the Trailblaze Challenge was undeniable. Difficult? To say it was challenging would be an understatement, but the profound reward of contributing to this cause made every effort worthwhile. Not only did we have the privilege of raising crucial funds for Wish kids and their devoted families, but we also achieved significant personal goals.
And now, here we stand once more, resolute in our commitment to participate in the upcoming Spring 2024 Trailblaze Challenge. The journey begins anew, and I personally pledge to commence the training and remain far more consistent than I was this past summer. As for fundraising, I humbly acknowledge that I cannot achieve this mission without your invaluable assistance.
Make-A-Wish works tirelessly to grant over 15,000 wishes across the nation each year - a truly remarkable feat. Yet, this statistic accounts for only 50% of eligible children. Tragically, every hour, three children receive the devastating diagnosis of a critical illness. Each of these young people yearns for a wish to fortify their spirit and aid in their healing process. I am dedicated to fundraising with a singular purpose: to provide these suffering children and their families with a chance to experience moments of joy, relief, and rejuvenation amidst their pain.
With your generous support, this mission is not only possible but inevitable.
Will you join me in my endeavor to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation by making a donation today?
Your contribution will undoubtedly give hope and happiness to families who desperately need some encouragement.
